About
Award winning soprano, Priscilla Salisbury, has been sweeping the nation with her shimmering voice and captivating stage presence, across both the operatic and sacred music worlds. She has originated title roles in several world premiere operas, including Monkey and Francine in the City of Tigers (Houston Grand Opera,) Lucinda y las Flores de la Nochebuena (Opera in the Heights,) Earth to Kenzie (Seattle Opera,) and the role of Mrs. O’Malley in It’s a Wonderful Life (Houston Grand Opera.) Other roles include Gretel in Hansel und Gretel (Opera in the Heights) and Casilda in The Gondoliers (Winter Opera St. Louis.)

Priscilla has been featured as the soprano soloist in sacred choral masterworks such as the Fauré Requiem (Houston Masterworks Chorus and St. Cecilia Houston,) Dan Forrest’s Requiem for the Living (Sacred Music Festival and MDPC Concert Series,) and Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de Confessore (The Woodlands Chorale.)

As a teenager, Ms. Salisbury's career flourished in a televised competition called Objetivo Fama in Puerto Rico. She received recognition for her solo work from the Mayor and Governor of Puerto Rico. Some of her television appearances include Despierta America and Noticias Univision. She has performed at the Latin Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony honoring Angélica María and Vikki Carr, amongst others.

Her artistry has earned recognition as the Best Female Singer and Best New Artist nominee at the first Annual Catholic Music Awards, the “Let Creativity Happen” Grant from the City of Houston and the Houston Arts Alliance, the Encouragement Award from the Seattle Opera Guild, top prizes in the Houston Masterworks and NATS Greater Houston Area Competitions, and the prestigious Ugo di Portanova Scholarship from the Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italy.

Priscilla has spent two decades serving as a cantor and music director in Catholic parishes across Texas and Washington, leading choirs in English, Spanish, and children's liturgies. Her work spans from the Traditional Latin Mass to contemporary worship. She is also the creator of a growing YouTube channel dedicated to Sunday’s Psalms, offering valuable resources for psalmists around the world. In addition, Priscilla serves as a precentor for cantor workshops nationwide with Oregon Catholic Press and she teaches vocal technique and Latin diction to seminarians at St. Mary’s Seminary.

Priscilla holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Houston, a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Sacred Music from the University of St. Thomas. She has served as Adjunct Professor of Vocal Studies at Lone Star College–Montgomery and Texas Southern University. She is an active board member of the Greater Houston Chapter of NATS and is a Teaching Artist and Chorister with Houston Grand Opera.
